At So Brave, we know that young women can and do get breast cancer. It’s why we exist: to raise awareness, advocate for change, and support young women under 40 as they face the realities of breast cancer.

We’re proud to share that we’ve partnered with Roche Australia to amplify this mission among their teams and help build a more informed, empowered and #breastaware community.

Recently, So Brave founder and CEO Rachelle Panitz and So Brave Patient Advisory Committee member Stefani Jelic had the honour of speaking at Roche Australia’s offices last Thursday about the realities of a breast cancer diagnosis and how to be your best health advocate. The visit sparked meaningful conversations about the importance of breast awareness, encouraging regular self-checks and the critical role of early detection.

Stefani reflected on her experience sharing that “It was such a wonderful, rewarding experience…the conversations that happened afterward, and the feedback that was received was nothing like I expected.”

This is why partnership and creating #breastaware communities matters:

  • Breast cancer isn’t just a disease for older women — 1,000+ young Australian women are diagnosed each year.
  • Too many are diagnosed late — because awareness and self-checking are still too low in our age group.
  • Knowledge saves lives — early detection increases survival rates.

We thank Roche for the opportunity to speak to their teams across Australia and spread awareness, start the conversation and share the message.
