It Pays to Start Young

“I learned that, both for myself and women I know, need to take the step of checking ourselves monthly, and becoming more aware of breast cancer”

When it comes to being educated and empowered about your own body,

it pays to start young

At So Brave, we believe that bringing breast cancer awareness to youth and young women is vital in order to save lives.

Which is why we offer our Breast Aware for Life Education Program at high schools and universities.

Aside from providing practical information about breast cancer and its warning signs, we also teach the next generation to be body positive, and empowered when it comes to advocating for their own health.

We have collaborated with educators and student leaders in developing our program, to ensure that it’s effective, relevant, and engaging. We’re proud to equip young women with the knowledge they need to understand their breast health and take control over their own futures.

“I liked how you expressed your stories, it made it seem more real and we could understand it more.”

This is the kind of feedback from educators which keeps us going…

“…Engaging and open discussion…”

“Well-structured workshop /well planned/enjoyed group work”

“Students learnt a lot from the workshop (including) learning things they didn’t know before…”

“… (it was) great hearing young girl’s inputs and mindsets…”

“…Solidified importance of breast cancer awareness…”

…and from the young women themselves…

“I learnt that both for myself and women I know, need to take the step of checking ourselves monthly, and becoming more aware of breast cancer”.

“Today’s workshop taught me the importance of breast cancer and knowing my own body.”

“Very insightful, inspirational and important to be educated about. Made me more aware of how important it is to know your body.”

“I liked how you expressed your stories, it made it seem more real and we could understand it more.”

Our So Brave speaker will engage and educate your young people for between 45 – 60 minutes

We’ll cover the practicalities of self-awareness, breast cancer checks, warning signs, and the importance of body positivity and empowerment

We’ll also inspire your audience to advocate for their own health in all areas, not just relevant for breast cancer diagnosis, but so our young women can feel in control of their health and future

There’ll be plenty of time after the presentation for questions and answers, and you may want to prompt your school or university groups to prepare some questions beforehand, so they’ll feel confident to ask them and get some answers

Take away resources to remind you to do your monthly breast checks – including a waterproof breast check hanger and business card sized breast check symptoms and doctor’s visit card
