Every day in Australia, a young woman hears the words: “You have breast cancer.”
She’s in her 20s or 30s – working, studying, raising children, chasing dreams. And in a moment, everything shifts.
That’s why So Brave exists. To support young women diagnosed with breast cancer. To raise national awareness that young women can and do get breast cancer. And to advocate for systemic change that will save lives.
As we approach the end of the financial year, we’re preparing to launch something bold – our 2025 EOFY Fundraising Campaign. A powerful, multi-pronged effort designed to raise the critical funds we need to continue and grow our work.
But we’re not waiting until launch day to get started.
We’re already building momentum through sharing our young women’s stories and hearing from our community about why So Brave matters in their journey with breast cancer.
And at the halfway point of the campaign, we will celebrate something extraordinary:
The So Brave Gala – Our Signature Event of the Year. Our Gala brings our mission to life with powerful storytelling, live entertainment, and amazing fundraising opportunities. It’s a moment to honour the brave, unite our community, and generate real impact..
We’re thrilled to announce that this year’s Gala will be hosted by Margaux Parker, beloved Triple M Breakfast radio personality. Margaux brings a unique blend of warmth, charisma, and lived experience to the role. Her energy and passion will guide us through a night to remember – one filled with purpose, connection, and hope.
Why this year’s EOFY donation campaign matters
Young women continue to face late diagnoses, a lack of targeted support, and systems that weren’t designed with them in mind. Your support helps us change that. With the funds raised, we will:
- Deliver age-appropriate support and resources to newly diagnosed young women
- Expand national awareness campaigns aimed at early detection and myth-busting – because no one deserves to be told that they are “too young” for breast cancer
- Drive our advocacy agenda forward – because health policies must reflect the real needs of young patients
