So Brave received the following updated revised advice from AstraZeneca this morning about the supply of
Zoladex 3.6mg:

The AstraZeneca media release accompanying today’s announcement is available via this link to our website:  www.astrazeneca.com.au/news/media-releases/2026/ASTRAZENECA-TO-EXTEND-PBS-ACCESS-TO-ZOLADEX-goserelin-MONTHLY-3_6mg-IMPLANT.html

AstraZeneca has announced that Zoladex monthly (3.6mg) will remain on the PBS until 1 May 2027, after which it will move to a “supply only” arrangement. Prescriptions written before that date may continue to be dispensed for up to 12 months, enabling eligible patients to access PBS-subsidised treatment through to 1 May 2028.

What does this mean for patients?
Patients who are on Zoladex 3.6mg will be able to continue to receive this medication on the PBS until 1 May 2027. At that point, it will no longer be on the PBS, but any scripts for Zoladex written prior to 1 May 2027 will be able to be dispensed via a ‘supply only’ arrangement up until 1 May 2028.

The previously announced free access program will not proceed.

Patients affected by these announcements should speak with their treating team about their options and any concerns. So Brave will continue to work with all stakeholders to ensure patients have access to medicines.
