At So Brave, advocacy is at the heart of everything we do. Young women face unique challenges when it comes to breast cancer from delayed diagnosis, limited support services, and too often, voices that go unheard in policy and research decisions.
Our advocacy work makes sure that changes.
We speak directly to government, researchers, health professionals, and media to ensure the experiences of young women are recognised.
From national campaigns to grassroots initiatives, So Brave works tirelessly to raise awareness, and stand with young women facing breast cancer.

Young women face significant barriers in getting an early diagnosis – from a lack of breast awareness to difficulties accessing diagnostic scans and the financial impact of ultrasounds, mammograms and MRIs. So Brave is advocating for better access – including a blood test for breast cancer so that all young women get the best possible chance to getting an early diagnosis.
Young women who are diagnosed while pregnant or shortly after giving birth face devastating choices around treatment, breastfeeding, and caring for a newborn. We are advocating for clear clinical guidelines, better support pathways, and recognition of this unique group of patients.
Young women face unique challenges: raising children, navigating careers, body image, and relationships all while undergoing treatment, surgery, and recovery. We are pushing for targeted mental health and survivorship support services that meet the realities of younger patients.
